2 weeks old

Puppies are doing great. Everyone can see, hear, and walk now.

The puppies are growing and doing well. I have been having so much fun watching them instead of posting.

We have puppies!

Contractions started about 8:45 last night. In less than an hour we had our first puppy. We ended up with 6 girls and 1 boy but one girl was born out of the sack, pale, and not breathing. We never could get her going.
Everyone else seems to be doing well. Venus did a great job and everything went fast and smooth. She's being a wonderful mom.

Final weight and now we wait!

Venus's final weight was 61.6 so about 13lb gain total. My guess is 6-7 puppies. Today she has been nesting big time whenever I leave. I guess she doesn't think it's ok when I'm home.
I am home for the weekend now so I just wait and watch. Keep an eye on the cam for updates.

Venus has a cam up so she can be monitored while I am at work in the days leading up to the delivery.

She gained 4lbs in the past week putting her up to a total of 10lb gain. 9 more days to go!

Markers, heating pad, whelping pad, everything is here and ready. Now we just finish up our wait.

Venus is getting very big!

She has gained 5.6lbs since I last weighed her on Sept 28th. She has some milk now and we heard heartbeats on the doppler. We think we heard 8 of them. I have been saying from the very start that there are 9 puppies.

18 days to go!

Real weight gain

Venus gained 0.9 lbs this week. Her belly is growing and looking very cute. No weight for next week, I'll be at the Sammy national in IN!
