In less than an hour we had our first puppy. We ended up with 6 girls and 1 boy but one girl was born out of the sack, pale, and not breathing. We never could get her going.<br /> Everyone else seems to be doing well. Venus did a great job and everything went fast and smooth. My guess is 6-7 puppies. Today she has been nesting big time whenever I leave. I guess she doesn't think it's ok when I'm home. <br /> I am home for the weekend now so I just wait and watch. Venus is pregnant!!! She was up to 48.9 lbs, still not much of a gain yet. Her belly has grown another 1/4 inch. I leave for the National on Sat Oct 3rd and will borrow a friends doppler to bring home with me. Not much change yet. She has been clingy even for her. Monday she wasn't really into our agility lesson and didn't want to play catch the Border Collies which is usually a favorite! <br /> Saturday I measured her belly at 19 1/4, tonight at 19 1/2! We are very excited about the kind of structure we expect from this litter. Not only will they be built to work but they should have the drive to do it also! <br /><br /> I first noticed Venus in season August 20th. I had checked her the night before so we are pretty accurate on when she came in. I ran the fertile focus on her today and it says she's no where close to being ready. We're going to start running progesterone tests on Tuesday (Day 6) and Shaker will be here on Wednesday.<br /><br />Venus weght today was 49.5 lbs.
